White Christmas Punch

Ingredients

• 2 cups sugar
• 1 cup water
• 12 ounces canned evaporated milk
• 1 teaspoon almond extract
• 6 2-liter bottles lemon-lime soda
• 3 1/2 gallon cartons vanilla ice cream

Instructions

1. In a saucepan, combine sugar and water. Stir constantly over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
2. Remove from heat. Add evaporated milk and almond extract; let cool.
3. Chill until ready to serve.
4. Just before serving, combine milk mixture with lemon-lime soda in decorative punch bowl.
5. Add ice cream, stirring to break into small pieces.
